English class: Saturday December 14th
For those present at Giampiero's English class yesterday, the terms we were looking for are the following:
PTL: 90° Power-Off Approach
PTU: 180° Power-Off Approach
Glissade: Sideslip or Forward Slip depending on the airplane's direction of movement and its original flightpath and longitudinal axis

How to extend flight time
When you really screw up the approach, remember that any landing you walk away from is a good one...

We can see things in a different perspective:
The scientific proof that God exists is when you really screw up the approach and your able to walk away from it!

You almighthy God...
Well, I'm afraid I'm not a true believer... My experience tells me that the decision to stop an approach often rests with the pilot.
Nonetheless, after logging so many instructor time, I must admit that some fate-teasers are definitely luckier than others and that somebody may be at work behind the stage.
The point is that I don't have his cell phone number...

I'm not a true believer either; even though I was brought up to be, but when I watch some online video clips of emergency or crosswind landings, I have to agree with your point of view!
In my case, with my 26 hours flying time, the one pulling the strings behind the stage is my flying instructor
when he is sitting next to me
If you happen to come across his cell phone number, let me know, it might come in handy some day when I start flying solo
